Job Description
POSITION:           Cashier
REPORTS TO:      Head Cashier or Store Manager

Overall purpose – Grow sales by providing world class customer service.
Cashiers are responsible for providing helpful customer service; processing sales quickly, accurately and efficiently; and operating the cash register.  
(Unless noted otherwise, the tasks listed below apply to all stores)
 Act as community ambassador by promoting other businesses, community attractions and events.
 Act as the store’s ambassador by ensuring each customer receives outstanding service.
 Greet customers as they enter the store.
 Answer and direct all phone calls.
 Tactfully and pleasantly deal with customers.
 Stock soda machines.
 Process UPS shipments.
 Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements.
 Process all types of point-of-sale transactions including, but not limited to, sales, returns, layaways, special orders and deposits.
 Accurately handle multiple forms of tender including, but not limited to, cash, check, credit cards, coupons and gift certificates.
 Issue DNR licenses.
 Maintain orderly appearance of register area and ensure supplies are stocked and ordered.
 Provide required documentation to the auditors for balancing of daily sales.
 Bring in carts from the parking lot; ensure cart area in store is neat and orderly.
 Assist with stocking, pricing merchandise and store housekeeping.
 Enforce policies and procedures for safety, loss prevention and other areas, and serve as a safety role model.
 Other duties as assigned.
The minimum requirements for this position include the following:
 Must be at least 16 years old.
 Experience in a retail environment as cashier, sales or back office preferred.
 Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and counting money.
 A commitment to service, excellence and customer satisfaction.
 Ability to communicate with associates and customers.
 Professional manner and appearance.
 Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a strong willingness to learn.
 Knowledge of retail computer systems and electronic cash registers; MS Word and Excel a plus.
 Exceptional organizational ability, high attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
 Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of the business.
The minimum physical requirements for this position include:
 Ability to stand for an extended period of time
 Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
 Moving and handling boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting and performing all functions as set forth.

Part-time, flexible hours.
Pay $9-$11, based on experience
