Job Description
POSITION:          Sales Associate
REPORTS TO:    Store Manager

Overall purpose – Grow sales by providing world class customer service.
The primary responsibilities of the sales associate position are to maintain outstanding customer service, generate sales, merchandise products and support the store’s management team.
(Unless noted otherwise, the tasks listed below apply to all stores)
 Ensure each customer receives outstanding service that follows the S.A.L.E.S process and by mystery shop standards.
 Uphold greeting and other store standards.
 Provide accurate and helpful advice to customers; research additional information, as needed, for a “customer-positive outcome.”
 Be knowledgeable about products, proper usage and services.
 Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements.
 Execute the daily operational, day-to-day goals and priorities assigned by store management.
 Assist in the training and development of peers.
 Actively participate in daily huddle meetings.
 Uphold greeting, merchandising, store cleanliness and other standards.
 Participate in the processing of new shipments and help the team keep the receiving and back stock area clean and organized.
 Knowledgeable about returns, price matches, special orders and other key policies.
 Comfortable understanding the level of empowerment by which to problem-solve.
 Enforce policies and procedures for safety, loss prevention and other areas, and serve as a safety role model.
 Aid customers in locating merchandising in the store and on acehardware.com.
 Process rain checks and special orders.
 Solicit customers to open an Ace Rewards card.
 Answer customers’ questions and provide information on procedures and policies.
 Other duties as assigned.
The minimum requirements for this position include the following:
 College degree or department-related experience preferred.
 Must possess vast knowledge of hardware-related products and a willingness to learn.
 Sales and marketing experience with retail programs, establishing relationships and working with customers.
 Previous experience in a retail environment either in either marketing, sales or back office.
 A commitment to service, excellence and customer satisfaction.
 Ability to communicate with associates and customers.
 Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a strong willingness to learn.
 Exceptional organizational ability, high attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
 Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of the business.
The minimum physical requirements for this position include:
 The ability to stand for an extended period of time
 Assisting customers with the loading and unloading of their orders
 Moving and handling boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting and performing all functions as set forth. 
 Lifting up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis; 25-50 pounds on a regular basis.

Part-time, flexible hours.
Pay $9-$11, based on experience
