SUMMARY:Targeted Attraction Opportunities in the Workforce
DESCRIPTION:Targeted Attraction Opportunities in the Workforce\n\nPresented By: Steve Janke\, Founder and CEO\, Mission Wisconsin & Greg Markle\, Executive Director\, Operation Fresh Start\n\n\n\nThe shortage of workers to fill available jobs continues to be a high priority issue in communities across Wisconsin. Increasingly\, employers have been looking to add talent attraction initiatives to their recruiting strategies to help address the limited workforce supply.\n\n\n\nThrough this panel discussion\, targeted attraction opportunities such as focusing on out-of-state recruitment\, transitioning military service members\, and justice involved individuals will be explored. You will hear examples of successful talent attraction efforts including best practices.\n\n\n\nAbout Mission Wisconsin\n\nMission Wisconsin is dedicated to helping military service members navigate their transition back into civilian life and find career opportunities after serving.\n\n\n\nBetween 200\,000 and 250\,000 military personnel transition out of active duty each year. Mission Wisconsin begins working with service members and their families as early as seven months before the end of their service to discuss what's next and explore openings with leading companies in the state.\n\n\n\nAbout Operation Fresh Start\n\nOperation Fresh Start empowers emerging adults on a path to self-sufficiency through education\, mentoring & employment training. Since 1970\, Operation Fresh Start has empowered more than 8\,000 emerging adults (age 16-24) to find a pathway to a family-sustaining career. OFS graduates earn their high school diploma\, driver's license\, certifications in the construction and conservation fields\, and gain college/career readiness skills. Participants are also giving back to the community building affordable homes for low-income families\, completing conservation projects and environmental justice work in city and county parks. After program completion\, OFS staff continue to support graduates as they transition into post-secondary education and/or self-sustaining employment.\n\n\n\n Thank you to our Event Sponsors:
