DESCRIPTION:The State of the Wisconsin Economy: Past Patterns\, Current Status\, and Future Directions\n\nPresented By: Steven Deller\, Professor\, Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics\, University of Wisconsin\n\n \n\nIn order to better understand the state of the Wisconsin economy\, Professor Deller will review broad historical economic trends of the nation and Wisconsin. Particular attention will be paid to the performance of the Wisconsin economy just prior to the Great Recession and how the economy has recovered. In addition\, he will highlight strengths and weaknesses of the Wisconsin economy and how those may influence future directions.\n\n\n\nAbout the Speaker:\n\nSteven Deller is Professor of Agricultural and Applied Economics at UW Madison and a Community Economic Development Specialist with the UW-Extension. Professor Deller's long-term research interest includes modeling community and small regional economies in order to better understand the changing dynamics of the economy\, assessing the impact of those changes\, and identifying local economic strengths\, weaknesses\, opportunities and threats.
