About Us

Built in 1999 by the late US Olympian Bob Suter, Capitol Ice Arena was constructed with the goal to develop boys and girls hockey in the Madison area through the Madison Capitols, Middleton High School and Middleton youth hockey. The arena has witnessed thousands of young players develop into strong leaders in the local community.

In 2017, the Madison Capitols United States Hockey League (USHL) franchise moved to the arena. Following this move, the arena underwent massive renovations in 2018 that included the addition of luxury suites, an expansive beer garden, complete A/V capabilities, full service catering, additional seating, and HD video-boards. The renovations have enhanced the entertainment value for Capitols USHL games. Offering communal spaces and interactive settings, our venue provides an inviting atmosphere for both hockey games and private functions.

We offer a multitude of events, ranging from holiday gatherings and private skating parties to team-building and corporate events. With capacity of 2600+ guests for Capitols games or private functions, we focus on creating memorable and unique experiences. Having year-round availability, the possibilities abound, and we look forward to the potential of hosting you.
