Production Manager

We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Production Manager with at least 2+ years of experience in leading a team in a fast paced production driven environment. No screen print or embroidery experience required. The position must use strong leadership skills to direct, control, and coordinate the day-to-day production within the print shop and embroidery to include effective and efficient planning and scheduling of personnel and equipment to ensure meeting quality standards, goals and time deadlines. Manager will handle preproduction prep and back up shipping & receiving. This candidate works as a team player, keeps a high level of quality and attention to detail in every single order and has a positive attitude with strong customer orientation.

Job Responsibilities

· Leads assigned work group, monitors processes and coordinates daily production and flow. Plans and coordinates production to ensure schedule attainment, production volume and labor utilization

· Receive verbal or written instructions from management and communicate back information as needed regarding schedule and production status or order discrepancies

· Handle preproduction activities including verifying receipt, reviewing artwork, pulling product and organizing orders

· Assist receiving as needed by verify and documenting accurate receipt of inbound products

· Reconcile discrepancies with purchasing regarding defective materials and inventory

· Ensure open backorders are handled in a timely manner

· Responsible for teammate relations: coaching, discipline, and accountability, (performance, attendance, productivity) training and performance monitoring including reviews

· Monitor processes, products, and teammates to ensure production quality and productivity standards are met by identifying any off standard conditions and taking immediate, appropriate corrective action

· Maintain a safe, organized and clean work area in order to efficiently produce materials Administer, review, create and update standard operating procedures and other task related documents to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of products

· Ability to troubleshoot, problem solve and deal with a variety of variables

· Performs other related duties as assigned by management and makes recommendations regarding how operations can further improve to meet service, quality, safety, and productivity goals

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for an extended period of time on cement, bend, kneel, reach, twist, and frequent lifting (occasionally up to 50lbs)
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers and the need to reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to work in a minimal air-conditioned shop with fans in a warehouse area and air compressors running
  • Job may involve climbing on ladders to reach higher shelf levels
  • Contact with and use of inks and cleaning solvents is required

  • Computer skills; Word, Excel and Outlook preferred.

  • Strong documentation skills, accuracy and attention-to-detail necessary

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Minimum of 2-year experience supervising/leading people
